Week two of senior project was filled with a lot of laughs and work. This week was the week of the play, so, I had to balance school work with time at the meeting house. A few kids on the baseball team were in the musical, Shrek, so it was all very fun. In the classroom, this week was mostly finishing up with final projects and wrapping up previous work. I became more comfortable with the kids I didn't know prior to being a TA and was able to help more people because of that. Below are a few end of term comments by students that I think are perfect to note.

"I honestly had many "eureka" moments this year, ( I had to look up this word FYI ) anyways, when it comes to satisfaction of discovering something, there were many, but when it came to this class in particular, I found myself having these moments in the reading of " Salt Water Buddha ". these moments were mostly found when I was reading about how Jaimal was trying to find himself as a person. He was traveling constantly and doing all sorts of things trying to find out what made him, him. The reason this is my "eureka moment" is because I find myself doing the same thing throughout my life, I find myself doing and trying and discovering certain things that make me happy, that make me, me, and I had a genuine connection with that book and it was relieving to read. Some skills that I will bring from what I have learned is that don't write like it isn't you who's writing, don't fake the way you write, write the way it is comfortable for you, not meaning be sloppy and unintelligent with your writing skills, but don't say certain things that don't make sense to you that you think would sound smart in a paper. I don't exactly know how I learned this in this class, but I think I felt more comfortable writing in this class than I normally do because it is a class that doesn't require a high amount of stress, so I could lay back and write a paper with more comfortability. and at the end, the results ended up being better than I anticipated, and it was easier. so don't overcomplicate writing basically is what im saying. To get better with my grammar when it comes to writing papers. I find myself buzzing through essays getting all my ideas on the paper and not thinking twice about how badly something may not make sense and not re-phrase it, or just neglecting the miss spelling of words, I just find that such a hassle at times. so that is what I will be needing to work on in the future. For this class in particular it will be the Saltwater Buddha book, for some reason this book just resonated with me, it was relaxing to read and had lots of moments that struck me as a reader. that is the moment of this term that I will remember from this class. and of course Don being Mels partner in crime, kid makes a hell of a teacher." - From Bridget

Overall, teaching was more satisfying than I had imagined, and I'm looking forward to what the rest of the time does for me!
